I heart coupons to Domino’s. I’m sold already, but what’s really great about BThrifty is it’s intention. I hate those junk mailers and if all our coupons were generated online, we could just print the ones we would actually use. I’ll do you one better, what if you could download a coupon on your phone and text it to the pizza place? I just blew my own mind.

Crafting a Green World is unexpected. Being crafty is already a pretty sustainable practice, but CAGW pushes it to a new level. When we paint eggs, we use the cheap 6 color pack that reeks. Silk ties are brilliant. Epic win. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Turn old blinds into plant markers, or as they would say “recover” them.

Envelopes Anyone? is a small company based in New Haven that takes normal cast-off, like calendars and wallpaper and make brilliant stationary. All right here from our humble state. Could it get any better? Yes. They go out of their way to employ the handicapped. I rest my case.

Charge your cell phone overnight and then forget to unplug the charger? Alarm clock? Refrigerator? These things draw power constantly from outlets, even if they are turned off. These things have ‘vampire power’, which I think is a truly fitting name. The KillAWatt, by P3 International, measures the amount of energy drawn to help figure out what items in your household should be put on a power strip and shut off when possible. BuyCTGrown is not only informative, but truly a center for little farmer’s markets to get found. Think that’s amazing? How would being able to go to a farm where you can pick the produce yourself? Now that’s classy. Just peeking at the map above makes me think it’s time to switch to local.
